COVID-19 Safety Protocols
COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
The management of Mole Motel has put together safety protocols in accordance with World Health Organisation, Ghana Health Service and Ghana Tourism Authority guidelines on the spread and prevention of the coronavirus pandemic in work places. We have adapted to the new circumstances of COVID-19 in order to live the “new normal” in our daily operations. With these guidelines and safety practices in place we welcome you to a clean and safe environment.
Health and Safety Protocols
We have created a protected and safe environment for all visitors to which they can safely return to Mole National Park and the Motel for ecotourism activities. We have put in place enhanced cleaning and disinfection procedures, social distancing, protective equipment and regular training of our staff to motivate them to implement the safety protocols.

We have put into practice social distancing measures where staff and customers would stand 6 feet apart during any interaction. We have put into action a “No mask, No entry” policy for all customers and staff.
2. Hand washing, sanitizers and temperature scan
The hotel has provided an automatic solar-powered handwashing bay for arriving guests and visitors. In addition, wash-free hand sanitizers have been provided at all public places such as reception, restaurant, bar and others to augment other safety measures. We will use infrared scanner to do temperature screening of all arriving guests and employees. People with high temperatures equal or above 37.5℃ (100.3℉) would be referred to the nearby Savannah Regional Hospital for further examination.
3. Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfecting
We have increased the degree of details to our cleaning and disinfection of all guestrooms, public areas and high-touch surfaces to desirable quality of safety with regard to approved COVID-19 safety protocols. Some of the high-touch items include door handles, key cards, TV remotes, POS devices, desks, chairs and coffee machine.
4. Safe Swimming Pool
We apply the required quantities of chlorine, aluminum sulphate, flocculant, sodium carbonate and algicide in order to obtain the appropriate potential of hydrogen levels for a clean and safe pool. Our pool attendants will limit the number of swimmers at each time while ensuring social distancing around the pool area.
5. Food safety
We will observe food safety practices and deliver cooked/packaged food according to highest hygiene standards in line with World Health Organisation guidelines. We have put in place frequent cleaning and disinfection of kitchen and restaurant areas and food preparation equipment. We will ensure good staff hygiene practices including frequent handwashing and in addition use of disposable hand gloves which must be frequently changed in-between tasks.
6. Restaurant and Bar
We have rearranged our dining tables and spaces to provide physical distancing. All tables, counters and seats are sanitized before and after use. Room service is available for the safe delivery of food and beverages. Food and beverages are served with cover or lid.
7. Hotel Linen
The hotel uses industrial laundry equipment that washes all linen. Our washer-extractors, dryers, ironers, all operate at high temperatures for optimal disinfection of towels, bedsheets, comforters, blankets, pillows and other linen.
8. Staff Training
We have given all employees enhanced awareness on COVID-19 safety measures and guidelines for the hospitality industry. We have presented training videos and literature on hygiene and safety protocols.
